Description
BDT-1602, a Nano-Ceramic formulated dry film lubricant. This high-performance product is designed to reduce friction and heat build-up in engine components, ultimately improving performance. When applied to the inner surface of a cylinder wall or sleeve, BDT-1602 creates a covalent bond and fills the micro-pores and honing marks within the surface, resulting in reduced frictional drag of the piston and rings. This leads to increased usable horsepower, especially at higher RPMs.
BDT-1602 can also be applied to main and cam bearings. Simply buffing in the product helps increase bearing life and enhance performance under demanding loads. For piston skirts and ring grooves, BDT-1602 reduces sliding friction, prevents scuffing and surface wear, and prevents pistons from sticking in high heat or extreme use conditions. Coating the inside of piston bottoms aids in oil shedding, reducing weight and heat retention.
BDT-1602 is a straightforward application (see application) that creates a permanent bond with the substrate, becoming a part of the structure of the parts. It is extremely tough, resistant to high temperatures (even direct flame), and offers corrosion resistance and hydrophobic properties. It can be used with or without post-applied oils.
