Description
MAGNUM XL represents the pinnacle of performance regarding corrosion and moisture protection. It is an epoxy ceramic-based coating that retains flexibility and is impervious to heat and water, providing exceptional corrosion and waterproofing value. Remarkably, no topcoat is required to safeguard its integrity. Additionally, it offers up to 68% sound reduction, as independently tested. This product’s unique properties enable its application even under saltwater conditions, and it can be submerged permanently without any detrimental impact. It has obtained a Class A fire rating based on the ASTM E-84 fire test conducted by Factory Mutual Labs.
The versatility of MAGNUM XL is worth highlighting as it can be applied directly over rust and offers unparalleled defense against degradation from heat and cold extremes, mildew, alkali, UV rays, oils, and grease. Furthermore, MAGNUM XL can be applied to dry and wet surfaces, making it convenient for use in various weather conditions. It demonstrates exceptional adhesion, making it suitable for application on Metal, PVC, Concrete, EPDM, cap sheet, and a range of other substrates. It can even be applied to wood, stucco, sheetrock, and virtually any surface. Notably, it adheres remarkably well to EPDM and has exceptional flexibility. However, it is essential to note that the MAGNUM XL is not recommended for direct application on Teflon, high-plasticized vinyl, polyethylene, and silicone rubber surfaces. Nonetheless, our primer, BDT-520, MAGNUM XL can be safely applied even to polyethylene and silicone surfaces.
MAGNUM XL’s benefits extend further as it boasts a long pot life and encapsulates the friability of almost all roof materials. Its chemically inert finish withstands acids, alkalis, animal fats, grease, and oils and even encapsulates asbestos, eliminating the need for tear-off or landfill waste. Moreover, it has demonstrated the ability to withstand 2.5-inch hail at 140 mph.
MAGNUM XL has undergone rigorous tests conforming to ASTM standards to substantiate its performance claims. It has successfully passed the ASTM B117 500-hour Salt fog test, and its fire rating has been classified as Class A based on ASTM E-84. It exhibits a hardness of 85 Shore Durometer according to ASTM D-2240, a tensile strength of 1393 PSI as per ASTM D-638, and a water vapor transmission rate of 0.7 perms according to ASTM E-96. Furthermore, it has withstood 500-hour accelerated weathering testing as per ASTM G-53, showcasing its remarkable flexibility even when subject to bending.
Its ability to adhere to a wide range of surfaces and its ease of application make it a highly versatile product. We are proud to offer an environmentally friendly coating that provides effective protection and contains no zinc, lead, or crystals.
It is essential to use the product in a well-ventilated area and, if not possible, to use a NIOSH-approved self-contained breathing apparatus or vapor filters on a mask. Additionally, protective gloves and safety glasses must be worn at all times. It is worth emphasizing that following all safety procedures is crucial due to the extreme adhesion characteristics of MAGNUM X.
